Hmm, Thanksgiving was delicious. It was an interesting mix of Mexican food and the typical turkey and dressing. I don't know if I ever said that the family I am staying with is Mexican and they are trying to make me Mexican. Anyways, it was good to see my family. It was really good spending time with them even though they got all sick on me and I had to nurse them back to health. At least it allowed me to catch up on some college football. Go LETU, ha. But regardless of my sister waking me up in the middle of the night by her upchucking, I still enjoyed spending time with them.
It is cool to see how God is teaching everybody the same thing. Talking with my sister and friend from school and a girl back home I see how God is teaching us all the same thing love. Love is an interesting thing. Many times we love everybody the same but that is ridiculously hard to do. To love a family member as much as you love a person that spits in your face is pretty hard. God wants us to have that unconditional love for everyone. Of course there are differences because there is the romantic love for a wife and the brotherly love for friends and family and the agape love that God desires us to have for all. But how do these loves coexist with each other? Which one is greater than the other? How do the responsibilities to spouse and family play into it? That part I still do not know, but God is still teaching me a lot and I'm sure He has been teaching you similar things. So we should not only ask God to give us love because He is love and all love comes from Him, but we should also ask Him to teach us how to love. We can have something and not know how to use it. So don't only ask for love, but ask Him to teach you how to use it.
I guess some prayer requests would be for me to learn directly from God. They teach a lot of truth here but I am becoming dependent on it so I need the restoration of my direct teaching with Jesus. Opportunities to develop and practice what God has taught me so far and that I would not let them pass.
