Jeremiah is Coming to Town

This week has been good. The fasting has been going well. It's tiring but it is worth it and is very needed. Thursday will be the last day of the 40 day fast. We have seen some change on the streets in both ways. Before they were all around the same temper and love that they showed. Now some people are really appreciative and loving and then other people have become way worse and reject God even more than before. So we have seen some change but there is still much more to go and to happen.
Jeremiah and his team are coming into town tomorrow so I am going to spend some days with them. If ya'll don't remember, Jeremiah is the guy that I started out this whole thing with. He was with me at Cornerstone for that month of preparation for the streets. God took him to another ministry called Good News On the Move and he has been doing that since September. God has been using him and his team a lot so I will join them for a few days this week while they are in Houston. It will be good to catch up with him and to further the kingdom with some different brothers. Please pray that God will bless my time with them and that much fruit be produced and that they would see it. After talking with Jeremiah, he said that they don't see much fruit but have the faith that God is working in people's lives. I want them to be blessed this week and see much of the fruit that God has been reaping. Also that God will use me this week to show the team what He has been teaching me and that I would learn much from them to. Also that I would have energy and endurance with this being the last week of the fast since they do a lot of walking. Love all of you.

Love is in the Air

Since I have said happy birthday the past two posts I figured I would do it once again and tell good ole George and Honest Abe happy birthday. Well Valentine's was this past Sunday and it was probably one of the most loving Valentine's yet. Not because I had a valentine or anything but God has been showing me a lot about love and giving me and the body here love. I have asked for love before but never as fervently as I do now. God is love so basically asking for love is asking for more of God in your life. And once God gives you more of Himself we can love Him better. It is the verse that says we love God because He first loved us. Without Him loving us and giving us more of Himself we cannot love Him or take part of Him. Everything Jesus did was rooted in love. Every prophecy, every teaching, every miracle, every healing, every service that He did was because He loved the people and desired them to be with Him and the Father. Without love we are nothing for we are nothing without God who is love. God has shown me that I have a broken heart. Not because of some event that broke it and has caused me severe pain. For some reason that He has not shown me yet, over time that thing has caused me to have a heart that has a hard time loving. It may be because I never showed much love, even to my family or because I rejected people's love. I'm not sure but whatever it is has left me with a tough time loving. Sure I love people but it takes time and trust. Jesus never took the time to get to know the masses or see if they were trustworthy. He loved them with all the sins and iniquities. God desires that from me and from all His children. Every person we come into contact with we should love unconditionally. Yes that kind of love is not easy and will leave us scorned and rejected and taken advantage of many times yet we need this love. We need to have prudence and wisdom yet the basis should be love. Today we have made the basis wisdom and logic and if it is reasonable then we should love the people. We have skewed and distorted God and His love. We need to get back to the basics of life...LOVE. Thanks for the prayers. I feel great now. Pray for strength and energy because the fasting tires me out. But more importantly pray for chains to be broken and bonds of wickedness to be loosed out on the streets and we would see God's transforming and all consuming Spirit bring His children home and He would be glorified. Love ya'll.

Another Big ...?

Well my mom had a birthday on the 9th. I won't say how old she is but I will say she is the same age as my dad. Go Mom, I knew you could make it. Well I just got done making some gorditas. Not the kind from taco bell, it's like a soft sweet tortilla. Not much to report on this end. I read Isaiah 49 and in verse 6 it says It is too light a thing that you should be my servant to raise up the tribes of Jacob and to bring back the preserved of Israel; I will make you as a light for the nations that my salvation may reach to the end of the earth. God says right there that it is too light a thing that Isaiah is just to bring back Israel to God. It is too light a thing to bring back a whole nation to God. God wants more from us. He wants us to be a light to the nations so that his salvation may reach to the end of the earth. It just struck me that God thought that bringing a whole nation back to Him was a small task. And in God's eyes that is small, through God we can accomplish these things and more. We can't limit God to what we believe can happen and allow Him to do what He knows can happen. I've been sick today and a little bit of yesterday so pray for that to go away. Love you guys.

The Big 50

Happy birthday to my dad. He turned 50. Yes I know he's old. But I still love him. His birthday was last week on the 26th. I'm sorry that I said that I was going to update more and I didn't but for some reason we didn't have internet here for about a week. So please accept my apologies. Everything is going well here. We still go out and feed and we are still fasting to see change out on the streets and to see change within the body that meets here. God has been teaching us a lot about unity lately. We here many teachings about unity and people may get closer somewhat but true unity is such a beautiful thing that God has created. He wants us to hold nothing back from our brothers and sisters. It is really hard in America today because society has instilled in us an ideology of individualism and independence. We believe that as the body of Christ we should be unified and work together to further the kingdom. But we never really realize the fullness to that statement because we as Americans want to hold on to what we own and what we think we deserve. But honestly, we don't deserve anything. We don't deserve the right to live because we are filthy sinners. We don't deserve the right to have a beautiful family, a big house, a nice car, or anything we desire. We get the privilege to help out our brothers and sisters and live in a unified community. Of course this isn't going to be some sort of utopia because not everybody is willing to sacrifice for this or give up what they think they have a right to. With Christ as the head though we can reach a close knit body that reaches out to others and pull them to Christ. A body that does the work of God without limiting Him because of petty differences or disagreements. Read Acts and the way that the people gave up all possessions to help their own and that they had all things in common. What's mine is yours. God desires this from us. Just ask Him and search His word. It is mightily difficult but through Christ we can achieve it.

Pray that:
  • God reveals the full extent of His love for me and His love for others and that I may actually feel it
  • God moves in the body here and bring a unified community ready to do His will without hindrance or limitation
  • God moves in the streets and reach the people that have nothing, have addictions, have chains and bondage
  • God transforms the homeless and raises up His people to take the homeless in and disciple them
Love ya'll,
Brennen
