New Year
So I know that I have done a poor job updating this blog and even the blogs I did put were very vague and general so I am turning over a new leaf. I am going to strive to update more and be more productive in my blog writing. Let me start all over from the beginning because I have done a bad job explaining. Here it goes.
I left September 28th and traveled for five days and got to Houston on that Friday night. I was on the streets living for just under a month when a family picked me up off the streets and I have been staying with them for about three months. I thought when I left from Dallas that I would be starting ministering to inner city people right off the bat but when I got here God put a hold on it and just had some Him and me time. The family God has put me with has given their house over to God. Many people might say that but they actually let it happen. We practically gather every night to either worship, pray, discuss and read the bible, or whatever the Spirit leads us to do. Along with that many people come over and we minister to them and we also go out to feed the homeless about three times a week. We will go out there and spend a few hours feeding, talking, and ministering to the homeless. Many organizations go out and feed but few actually invest time in the homeless and its not true love to do it half heartedly. Not to put down the organizations or people at all but God wants unconditional love and full obedience from all of us. And this isn't just in feeding homeless but in all things.
God has shown us a lot about sanctification. We need to strive for complete sanctification. God allows many things but not all things please Him. 1 Corinthians 6:12 says All things are permissible but not all things are beneficial. I want everything to be beneficial for the Kingdom of God. I believe that is a big part of sanctification. Not just taking away the sin in our lives but taking away the idle things in our lives. Like worldly entertainment for instance is idle. I'm not trying to sound all righteous here because I still watch my Cowboys, and God is not mad about it but what is it really helping? God has also been teaching us about fasting. And if we want to see real change we have to fast. Recently we have seen a lot of demonic oppression on the streets. This is new to me because I haven't seen much my whole life but on the streets there is. I read Isaiah 58 especially in 6-7 when it talks about loosing the bonds the wickedness and letting the oppressed go free. There are many reasons for fasting but this is the one that we are basing our fast on. If we really care about people and seeing them freed from sickness, oppression, storms we will fast for them. We should be fasting on a regular basis. It's different for all people but it should be regular. That's what I feel that God has been teaching me.
Ya'll can pray for the fast and that God moves on the streets and releases them from evil. And along with that we are shown how to disciple them as they are freed and saved. Thank you for the prayers and share any prayer requests with me. If ya'll have any questions about anything don't be afraid to ask and I'll try to answer them in later blogs.
